Weeds in Vegetable Garden
1. Garden Plot Preparation
Either before you broke ground on a new garden plot, or have an existing garden that has many weeds and grasses. Treat this area with Hi-Yield Super KillZall before seeding and planting. This is a weed and grass killer that kills existing weeds, roots and all.
For labeled vegetables you can go in and seed or transplant, 3 days after you have sprayed, (Tomatoes 30 days).
2. Prevent Weeds
Weed prevention in the garden can occur two different ways, before and after planting . For both ways you need to apply Hi-Yield Herbicide Granules.
Hi-Yield Herbicide Granules are the exact same formula as our red lid national brand competitor. This weed and grass preventer needs to be applied before weed seeds germinate in order to prevent weeds. It will prevent for 6 to 8 weeks if it is incorporated into the soil, (worked in, not on surface) so it needs to be re-applied every month and a half. If applied to the surface it will prevent only 4 weeks, so re-apply monthly.
Before planting, apply and work into the soil, 1″ to 2″ will last up to 8 weeks, 2″ to 3″ will last 10 weeks or more. This allows you to plant seeds (see label) or transplants directly in the treated soil. Water after application, wait 7 days to plant. After planting, apply near plants at least 2″ to 3″ tall, lightly scratch into the soil and water in.
3. Control Grasses
Grasses growing around vegetables can be controlled with
an application of FL Over-the-Top or HY Grass Killer. Competitor grass killers can not be applied around veggies.
HY Spreader Sticker makes these grass killers work better. I usually say, with Spreader Sticker, one application, without two applications.
